Passionate about Art and Textiles, especially of the woven kind, artist Fran White began her creative journey as a weaver. 

More recently, as Fran has transitioned into semi-retirement, she has been rediscovering her love of painting.

Artists exist primarily in isolation. It is a normal and necessary state in order to focus on creating. Enforced isolation, such as that we have been experiencing over the last few months, however, is quite different as it is not a choice and therefore it feels quite different and we behave differently.

At the Charleston Literary Festival in May 2019, I asked the reader if I could take her photo. She was reading Normal People by Sally Rooney. As you can see, I played with ideas, mediums, collage and, as I often do, accommodated previously used backgrounds.
